		<description>thanks v.much for the above. but when i just start the service it says - &quot;failed&quot; and when i restart it is successful as seen below. Anything still needs to be done to sort this out..?

ntpd: Synchronizing with time server:                      [FAILED]
Starting ntpd:
[server name]# service ntpd restart
Shutting down ntpd:          [  OK  ]
